The SA28 is an original Schreyer Audio design. A surprisingly loud and punchy 28 watts from a dual 6L6 fixed bias output stage driven by a split load (Cathodyne) phase inverter. Two input jacks (#1 High full input) , #2 Low (-6dB) or patch out full. A bright/normal switch, Volume, and a Treble, Bass, Middle tone stack. In addition, we offer a unique and very versatile low mid shape switch. This switch offers control of the low mids in order to dial in your tone more depending on the particular guitar and cabinet/speaker combination you are using. Whether it’s a single coil or humbuckers, 12’s or 10’s, closed back or open, the low mid shape is an amazingly useful tone sculpting feature. It loves pedals, so put your pedal board in front for all the effects you want and you are good to go. Using a very direct signal path, the SA28 has a great immediate and percussive response to your playing. Implementing a split load (Cathodyne) phase inverter opens up some Tweed character that adds clarity and richness when pushing the amp (as in the Pro, Bandmaster, and Super). At the same time, the 5AR4 rectifier maintains ample headroom before natural breakup. A smaller 20″ wide cab so it is manageable size and weight, but plenty loud. An impedance switch is included on the back (2, 4, 8 ohm positions), and two speaker jacks wired in parallel. Outside bias probe points are included and an external trim pot so power tube bias can be done with a simple volt meter and without removing the chassis. The combo comes with an Eminence Cannabis Rex Hemp cone speaker (8 ohm). This speaker complements the amp well with a strong bold tone, bell like highs, yet a nice organic feel from the hemp cone.
